Cashback: part of your losses back — on certain terms
By Ilze Krūmiņa · updated October 2026
Cashback returns a share of your losses over a period, such as a week. It looks like a safety net, and that is precisely its trap: it can create a feeling that losses are "insured". From the withdrawal side, three questions matter: what it is calculated from, in what form it is paid and what you can do with it.
Exact percentages, wagering multipliers and deadlines are set by the operator's bonus terms. They change, so read the current version before you activate anything. Amounts in examples are in your account currency.
How it is calculated
Cashback is usually based on net losses for the period: deposits minus withdrawals minus remaining balance, or stakes minus winnings. Bets made with bonus money and periods with an active bonus are often excluded. Illustrative numbers: in a week you deposit 200, withdraw 40, and end with 0. Net loss is 160. At 10% cashback, 16 comes back — and 144 is still a loss.
Real money or bonus money
| Form | What you can do with it |
|---|---|
| Real money, no wagering | Withdraw like any balance after verification |
| Bonus money with wagering | Wager first, then withdraw |
| Cashback with a minimum threshold | Losses below the threshold earn nothing |
If cashback arrives as bonus money, it is effectively a new bonus with all its conditions — see Wagering.
When cashback works against you
If you notice yourself playing longer or betting more because "some of it will come back anyway", the cashback is working against you. A 10% refund does not change the fact that 90% of the loss remains a loss. That is the moment to stop and look at the tools on Responsible gambling.
Timing and claiming
Some cashback is credited automatically on a set day, some must be claimed with a button or via support. Credited cashback often expires quickly — unused or unclaimed, it is gone. If cashback is a VIP perk, terms may differ by level (see VIP programme). And if it applies only to certain games — say live tables — losses elsewhere do not count.
Cashback and your withdrawal request
- Real-money cashback is withdrawn with the rest of your balance.
- Bonus cashback may be cancelled if you request a withdrawal before wagering it.
- A withdrawal during the period reduces net losses — and therefore the cashback.
Before requesting a payout, check the bonus section for active cashback with conditions, then follow Withdrawals. Other bonus types are on Bonuses.
