Verification: the documents that stand between you and your first payout
By Ilze Krūmiņa · updated October 2026
Verification, or KYC ("know your customer"), is the check in which the operator confirms that the account holder is a real adult and that money comes from their own payment methods. For a licensed operator it is a duty, not a preference. For a player it is the most common reason a first withdrawal is delayed — so it is better done before a win than after one.
What is usually requested
| Document | Typical examples | What to watch |
|---|---|---|
| Proof of identity | Passport or national ID card | Valid, all four corners visible, no glare |
| Proof of address | Utility bill or bank statement | Recent, with the same name as your profile |
| Proof of payment method | Card photo or banking-app screenshot | Only the first 6 and last 4 card digits visible, CVV covered |
| Selfie with document | You holding the ID next to your face | Good light, face and document both readable |
Not every operator asks for everything, and some add their own items, such as source-of-funds evidence for larger amounts. The exact list appears in the account's verification section or in a message from support.
When checks happen
The usual triggers are the first withdrawal, reaching a deposit threshold that requires checks, and adding a new payment method. Some operators verify at sign-up. If your account has an "upload documents" button, use it early — it is the easiest way to avoid a later delay.
Photos that pass first time
- Place the document on a dark, plain background so the edges are clear.
- Turn off the flash; glare on plastic cards is the most common rejection reason.
- Do not crop the corners and do not use filters.
- Cover the middle card digits and the CVV with a strip of paper rather than editing the image.
- Use an address document where your name appears exactly as in your profile.
Common reasons for rejection
The profile name is spelled differently from the document, the document has expired, the address proof is older than allowed, the card photo shows the full number, or the bank account belongs to someone else. Most of these take minutes to fix once you know what is wrong — so if a document is rejected, always ask for the specific reason in writing.
Stay safe
Upload documents only through the account's verification section or the support channel you opened from your account. If someone messages you "from the casino" on a messaging app asking for your passport, it is a scam. More about fake addresses on Vavada mirrors.
After verification
Once your documents are approved, later withdrawals are usually smoother. If you move house, change your name or add a new card, a check may repeat — that is normal. Next: Withdrawals and Withdrawal status; the whole cashier is on Payments.
