Skrill and e-wallets: a buffer between your bank and the casino
By Ilze Krūmiņa · updated October 2026
An e-wallet such as Skrill sits between your bank or card and the merchant. You load the wallet, pay from it, and receive payouts back into it. Many players like the separation: casino transactions stay in one place instead of mixing with everyday spending. This page explains how e-wallets generally behave in a casino cashier — it is not a statement that any particular wallet is available on your account.
The set of methods and the limits depend on the account — check the cashier.
How a wallet deposit works
- Choose the e-wallet in the cashier and enter the amount.
- Log in to the wallet in the window that opens, or approve in the wallet app.
- Confirm the payment; the balance updates.
- Keep the wallet's transaction record.
The name on the wallet
As with cards, the wallet must be registered in your name and the wallet's verified name should match your casino profile. A wallet opened in someone else's name is a third-party payment and will cause a hold at withdrawal time. If your wallet is unverified, the wallet provider may also limit how much you can receive.
Withdrawals back to the wallet
Where e-wallets are supported for payouts, the closed-loop principle usually applies: if you deposited by wallet, the payout tends to go back to the same wallet. From there you move the money to your bank. Keep in mind that this adds a step — and possibly a fee — on the wallet's side. The payout route for your account is shown in the cashier; the general logic is on Withdrawals.
Fees and limits on the wallet side
Wallet providers have their own fees for loading, currency conversion and withdrawing to a bank, and their own account limits. These are separate from anything the casino charges. Read the wallet provider's price list, especially if your wallet currency differs from your casino account currency.
Bonus exclusions
Some bonus terms exclude deposits made with certain e-wallets from welcome or reload offers. If you plan to take a bonus, check the bonus terms for excluded payment methods before depositing — otherwise you may deposit and find the bonus never activates. More on Bonus terms.
Who it suits
Players who already use an e-wallet, want gambling transactions kept apart from their main account, and are comfortable with the wallet's own verification. If you do not use one already, opening a wallet just for a casino adds another set of checks; a bank transfer or open banking may be simpler. Before the first payout, complete verification.
